Campers and Counselors

Peace Village campers come from all spiritual and cultural traditios and attend camp to learn about peacemaking.

What Do Campers Do?

Campers learn about the practice of peacemaking, both by understanding the roots of violence (such as social injustices and media modelling of violence) and by learning practical techniques to deal with violence within themselves and others.

Techniques for peacemaking include non-violent conflict resolution, meditation, the arts, nature studies, evaluating message in the media, supporting sustainable living and cooperative play. All camper experiences are developmentally appropriate for each age group and will model deep respect for cultural and religious diversity.

We celebrate that our children are nurtured by many faith traditions and welcome this opportunity to learn from each other.

Who Participates In Peace Village?

Peace Village welcomes children from all spiritual and cultural traditions. This year, we are accepting 40 participants for each week of camp.
